Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins is an Mexican American Sportscaster. She is currently working as a sportscaster at ESPN who is also an anchor of SportsCenter as well as hosting SportsNation. In 2016, she was a part of ESPN. The child of television journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual from her age of nine. This ability that helped her get her first role as an Univision producer assistant Miami. There, she was a producer for National shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. Then she was hired by the CBS subsidiary located in St. Petersburg employed her as a sports reporter. In 2009, she moved into Rio Grande Valley to work as a journalist for KNVO TV 48 Univision & Fox2 News. In 2009 she made the move to Rio Grande Valley in Texas in which she was a reporter for KNVO 48 Univision as well as Fox2 News. Also, she was often requested to fill in as anchors for the weather and sports. Then she became the anchor and reporter for Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. She was then given larger responsibilities. She wrote on sports like the NBA, Dallas Cowboys' postseason, NBA ALDS ALCS World Series or Finals FC Dallas. She also produced Univision 23 Accion Deportiva Extra and anchored it. She was appointed as the anchor of the sports program by Despierta America Deportes for their morning program. The anchor also worked in the same role on Primer Impacto on UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta Collins' grandparents were born in Veracruz Mexico. They moved at some point in Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born on November of 1985. She also has a younger sibling. Her family relocated to Miami in 1992, after having left Mexico. In 1992, the couple divorced and shortly afterward in 1995 she remarried Fabio Fajardo who was an engineer in the naval sector who passed away in the year 2006 after suffering from kidney cancer. In the course of a family holiday in Ohio, younger Collins had taken a position along with her sister. Still a senior in high school and yet with a clear idea what she wanted to do for her life, Antonietta was able to visit at the University of Mount Union to examine if it was a good fit for her preferences. It was an amazing campus. It also gave her the major that she desired. After completing her studies, she was admitted to the university as a major in media studies. The professor she had was Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM, and was member of her class, formed an ongoing friendship with the student. The passion he had for journalism as well as confidence in her own abilities inspired her. In turn, she attempted to live up to the standards he set and to not disappoint him.
